SEC Cycle and Pedestrian Bridge Closed
Please be aware that as of now the orange expressway flyover bridge from the SEC to Minerva Street has closed to people walking and cycling, as the SEC has taken on its temporary use as a hospital. There are suggested pedestrian and cycling diversions in place as follows:
The cycling diversion follows the Clydeside NCN 7/75 along to Newton Street, up to Anderston Station and back along the cycle path along the north side of the Expressway. We have been advised that signage is in place.
The pedestrian diversion follows Minerva Street, Finnieston Street, Finnieston Quay and Congress Street
We are working on contacting the council to see if we can suggest a more reasonable and shorter diversion for cycling, and are continuing to press that the Clydeside NCN 7/75 route MUST remain open for cycling to continue to be a vital source of travel for keyworkers around the city.
Meanwhile, we have been keeping our list of cycling services around the city up to date. Take a look here to see what extra assistance is available to help keep people on bikes moving.
